How we started

Indy Sam began from a work experience opportunity given by knocking on Honda Racing Australia's door several times in 03' & 04' to winning the 2005 Australian Superbike & Supersport Championships with their rider Joshua Brookes.
Brought into the 2007 World Superbike Championship by Brookesy & then breaking into the Spanish Championship the following year was a very steep learning curve experience.
After leaping across to CEV & MotoGP in the 250GP class 08' which afterwards became Moto2, Indy finally wanted to bring back those years of experience to all street and track motorcycles so in 2014 Mechmoto was brought to Australia.
Establishing Mechmoto during the 2012 MotoGP season, we began by finding sponsorship for riders like Anthony West and Italian Andrea Iannone of the Speedmaster Moto2 Team. The following year we brought clients & sponsors over to enjoy European MotoGP races inside the paddock and for 2023 we are linked with LCR Honda MotoGP and ASPAR KTM Moto2/3 to make even more exclusive team packages available across the world.

Headquarters are now based in Brisbane Northgate where we tune & service motorcycles and do RWC inspections.

Why Mechmoto?

Using the skills learnt in MotoGP to shave tenths off a second, we apply this knowledge with every motorcycle to make it's characteristics better than factory by tailoring the standard machine's equipment. Suspension setup is personalised for each individual and their riding style including geometry changes for all requirements.
To gain more response out of a motorcycle, there is a wide range of things we can tweak to make an improvement from small to large depending on the gains desired. Indy is an awesome mechanic. His passion and dedication is undeniable when he is working on your bike. Indy took my neglected R6 and revamped, overhauled, restored, replaced, repaired and refurbished everything that needed to be done. He tailored my bike to my specific needs and now my R6 handles like a dream. It’s more manoeuvrable, responsive, sleeker, fuel-efficient, and smoother. Thanks to Indy Sam at Mechmoto, for every thing I brought you my much loved, but neglected CBR1000rr. You took the time listen to what I had to say and best of all discussed how it could be better and OMG is it better? YES!!! She is, it's a weapon, a new bike and we are only part way through this journey. You have given her life and me the biggest smile on my face. With the work you have completed to date she is so much smoother, quicker and easier through the corners. Also thanks for setting the suspension you nailed it. Your the first to put a spanner to her since I brought her and you will be the only one I'll let put a spanner to her. I will be bringing her in for regular checkups and maintenance. Massive thanks to Indy for setting up the forks and shock on my CBR to compliment the tyres he put on a few weeks ago. Bikes limut is now way above my skill level and I have so much confidence in tipping the bike into a corner at all speeds, even in the wet!

I would just like to say a massive thank you to Indy from Mechmoto who helped me out at the final round of the Southern Downs Championship out at Morgan Park on the weekend. With just a few tweaks to my suspension he changed the set-up completely and my bike has never felt better, achieving some awesome results and even better some awesome lap times as I improved my Personal Best by 0.4 seconds and I couldn't be happier! I'm already pumped for what I can achieve next year with Indy's ongoing help.
